Last Friday started off with promise, but ended in me being stuck in several traffic in multiple States.
Jumping into the car at 5p to make planned a 5.5 hr trip is fine. When you arrive at your destination an hour late that's annoying. Unfortunately, I didn't get to be annoyed. Instead my travels with Nerd to a Steampunk event I've never attended, turned into a reflection of patience.
Okay, more of who had the least and how to creatively cope without getting pushed outta the car. Pair that with having a full bladder and almost empty gas tank while stopped on 95 and you can understand my fear that this may be the tone of the weekend.
After getting to our hotel at 3a we were greeted with the hotel night attendant that went above and beyond with sympathy, pleasantness and kindness.
At Steampunk unLimited Nerd and I were running on less 5 hrs of sleep, but managed to have a Saturday filled with happy. Happy in seeing familiar faces. Happy in meeting new people. Happy in the kickass coordinator of the event. Our vendor neighbors including the amazing Horney Things.
While Sunday's are traditionally slow, the company we kept couldn't be better.
